Srinagar, Oct 06 (KNO): The important surgeries at Gousia hospital Khanyar Srinagar are getting delayed as the anaesthesia technicians posted in the hospital have gone on emergency leave. Several patients while talking to news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), that they were given dates for surgeries but when they visited the hospital, they were asked to return back as no anaesthesia technician was available in the hospital. Sameer Ahmad, an attendant from Khanyar area, said that his wife's surgery was scheduled today but when they visited the hospital with all arrangements whatever was required, they were asked that no surgery will be conducted today as anaesthesia technicians are on leave. He said that they had been waiting for long to get date but when they finally got the date, anesthesia technicians were not available. Another patient said that it was not the fault of anesthesia technicians posted in the hospital as there can be emergency with anyone but if they aren't available for past few days, authorities should have made temporary arrangements. He said Director Health must look into the matter and direct concerned authorities to make arrangements in this regard. Meanwhile, an official told KNO that both anesthesia technicians (Husband-Wife) have gone on emergency leave as their baby is ill. He said that theatre at hospital functions on Thursday only and temporary arrangements in this regard will be made if couple doesn’t join their duties back in next two days—(KNO)
